Qori Warmi is integrated by 31 entrepreneurial women, who are cocoa bean producers located in the Valley of the Apurímac, Ene and Mantaro rivers, in the regions of Junín, Ayacucho and Cusco, across more than twenty communities.
The “Golden Women” are the key force in production, post-harvest and marketing of the chocolate. Many of them have assumed the role of heads of households due to social issues in the area, which have left them widowed. Men have often become absent in the presence of drug trafficking in the area, generating dangerous living conditions for locals. This is when our empowered “Golden Women” become true leaders at home and in the cocoa bean farm.
